| Designing
workshops
for children
With an BFA in Sculpture and another degree in Art History, Marilyn Price created
all her puppets with many purposes in mind: to help tell the story, to make
the audience aware of their own creativity and to utilize any and all objects
that seem to be lying around the house. Nothing is safe! Cartons, boxes, old
clothes, new clothes, hardware, feather dusters, kitchen equipment ... the
list is endless! Marilyn
often works with children in schools, camps and museums, to create puppets
with even the youngest of children. For example, Streganona, the Italian folk
hero, comes to life for young children, starting with ... a pasta box! Puppets
and programs can be customized to meet a theme or curriculum goal.
Skills for the corporate
and not for
profit world...
the story revisited
The only power point in this non-technical workshop is the power
of the story in creating a positive atmosphere in various corporate
or professional communities. Using exciting and stimulating workshops,
seminars, and master classes, Marilyn trains a wide variety of audiences
in the tools of listening and story telling skills and illustrates
why they are vital, important and necessary elements in today’s
charitable and business worlds. “Personalized” to fit any
venue or audience (for-profit and not-for-
profit corporations, volunteers
and professionals, educators and clergy), Marilyn teaches through exercise
and example and always story. The array
of materials she utilizes makes
her program dynamic, practical, and ready for immediate use. An exciting
key note speaker, she takes care to tailor all her work to fit the
occasion with effective background material and her usual touches of
wit and wisdom.
